Global Maker Day is a 24-hour remote design-a-thon where you'll build a working prototype in Webflow. Join for a chance to win sweet prizes (including: Webflow design critique, free Webflow subscription, 11-inch iPad Pro, and a $1,000 non-profit donation).
Webflow Virtual World Tour kicks off on August 18, 2020. Over the course of 3 weeks, we’ve planned 9 virtual “stops” across 8 time zones. Our last stop will be our encore event — a Global Maker Day, hosted on September 3. Register now.
Put your learnings from the World Tour event series to use and share ideas and experiments with other community members. Together, you will have 24 hours to prototype a creative site in Webflow. Once your site is built, you will receive feedback from peers, Webflow experts, and the Webflow team. In the end, you will have the chance to win sweet prizes and earn your place amongst the Community Hall of Fame.
The Global Maker Day is a 24-hour remote design-a-thon where you will build a working prototype in Webflow for a chance to win prizes sponsored by our partner, Accel. At the end, you will submit a link to your project and a demo video in a category of your choice.
- Best business or ecommerce prototype
- Best enterprise solution
- Best integration or add-on
- Best social impact project
- Best portfolio or side project
- Best cloned project or use of a pre-built template
Community members will vote for their favorite in each category — winners are chosen by the Webflow Community and there are no outside judges. Five 1st place winners (the project with the most votes in categories 1-5) will receive the following prizes*:
- A design critique of your winning project or prototype from one of our very own designers on the Webflow Brand Studio team or an official Webflow Expert
- A one year subscription to a Webflow Individual Pro plan
- An 11-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi connectivity and an Apple Pencil
- $200 of Jetboost account credit which can be used towards any of the add-ons for Webflow
- A donation of USD $1,000 made directly to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of your choice that’s helping to make the world a better place
The winner of the sixth category, best cloned or built-from-a-template project, will solely receive a donation of USD $1,000 made directly to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of your choice that’s helping to make the world a better place.
Join for the fun and creativity — leave with prizes and fame.
*All Maker Day participants must be at least the age of majority in the city or country where they reside at the time of registration. Individuals who are residents of any country, state, province or territory where the laws of the United States Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control or local law prohibits participating or receiving a prize are ineligible from receiving prizes from Webflow Virtual World Tour Global Maker Day.
Before Maker Day
One day before the Global Maker Day, you will receive access to join Discord where you can get to know the Webflow community before building begins, post your project ideas and find people to team up with. Detailed instructions will be emailed to all registered attendees the day before the event.
If you’re brand-new to Webflow and want to participate, take the Webflow 101 crash course before September 3.
During Maker Day
Each Maker Day category will have a dedicated Discord channel where Webflow staff will be online to answer any questions. Videos and resources will be pinned in each channel to provide inspiration and guidance.
After Maker Day
Create a demo video
Create a brief video (strictly under 2 minutes) using Loom, CloudApp, or YouTube demoing what you created. Your video might cover: what your project does, what inspired you, how you built it, what you learned, and how the community can interact with what you made.
Submit for prizes
- Register for Maker Day.
- Create an account on Devpost.
- Submit your project and demo video for a chance to win prizes.
- Post the video in your category’s channel in the Maker Day Discord community.
- Post your video on Twitter with #WWTour and encourage people to vote for you on Devpost.
Vote for your favorite Makers
The community will have from 6:00am PDT on September 7 until 12:00pm PDT on September 8 to vote for their favorite project in each category. Voting is open to the public and anyone can create an account on Devpost to cast their votes. Voting is +1 style, where people can vote for as many projects as they like, but only once for each project. The winners will be announced on September 9, 2020 on Twitter.
As with all of the World Tour events, participation in Maker Day is free and all are welcome.
