We drew inspiration from the aspens themselves, San Diego's layered topography, and the luminous Californian landscapes of Slovakian-American impressionist Maurice Braun — whose paintings capture a quality of sparkling light and quiet mysticism that felt deeply aligned with the practice's philosophy.
