This is a slight modification of the brilliant Tambien tutorial linked below.

I have updated the code to avoid the flicker that is seen on page load using Tambien's method.

Also the sessionStorage logic is more specific to avoid any unwanted behaviour is sessionStorage is used for anything else in the website.
