What is Squeeze?
Squeeze is a macOS app and Webflow Designer extension that solves one of the most frustrating parts of building with Webflow: getting video to look great on your site without touching a single line of HTML.
The Webflow extension is where the magic happens. It lets designers and no-code developers take a compressed video and turn it into a fully configured, production-ready custom element — directly inside Webflow Designer, with a clean visual interface.
What the Extension Does
The Squeeze extension lives inside Webflow Designer. Once installed, it appears in your Apps panel and is always one click away while you work.
The workflow is simple:
- Compress your video using the Squeeze desktop app on Mac
- Copy the generated embed code — one click, goes to clipboard
- Open the Squeeze extension inside Webflow Designer
- Paste the code — the extension reads it and populates a visual configuration form
- Set your parameters using toggles, dropdowns, and inputs — no HTML knowledge needed
- Hit Insert Element — Squeeze drops a clean, semantic <video> embed into your canvas
What You Can Configure — Visually
Every parameter is exposed as a UI control. No raw HTML, no digging through embed blocks later.
Playback
- Autoplay — toggle on/off
- Loop — toggle on/off
- Muted — toggle on/off (required for autoplay across browsers)
- Show/hide native video controls
Once inserted, the element renders immediately in Designer preview. If you need to adjust anything, open the extension, change a setting, re-insert. Done in seconds.
Why Designers Love It
Webflow's HTML Embed block is powerful but uninviting for designers — you paste code in, you can't easily edit it visually later, and there's no interface to guide you through the options. For anyone who doesn't want to think about HTML attributes, it's a barrier.
Squeeze removes that barrier entirely. The extension treats your video as a configured component — one with visible, editable properties that you set the same way you set anything else in Webflow: by clicking, toggling, and typing into fields.
It fits naturally into the Webflow Designer workflow. It doesn't ask you to leave the app, open a terminal, or learn a new tool. You stay in Designer, you stay in flow.
Who It's For
- Webflow designers who want beautiful video on their sites without learning HTML
- No-code developers who build client sites and want a faster, cleaner video workflow
- Webflow agencies who deal with video on multiple projects and need consistency and speed
Design & Quality
The extension follows Webflow Designer's visual language — clean, minimal, dark interface that feels native to the environment. Every interaction is intentional. There are no unnecessary steps, no sign-up walls, no settings you'll never use.
Squeeze is built by GRAFIT, a digital design agency. We built this tool because we needed it ourselves — and we built it to the standard we hold our own client work to.
Technical Details
- Built with the Webflow Apps SDK
- Runs natively inside Webflow Designer
- No third-party accounts or subscriptions required
- Clipboard-based handoff between desktop app and extension — simple, private, no data sent to external servers
- Generates clean, standards-compliant, cross-browser <video> HTML
- Compatible with all modern browsers and Webflow publish targets
