Hi my gorgeous friends of Webflow,

This project plays a bit with YouTube APIs, window scroll event, and - of course - the beauty and power of Webflow interactions to create a horizontal scroll animation where videos are automatically played or paused on scroll.

Also delayed the play function a bit to add an intro animation to each video by mixing the horizontal scrolling with simple scroll into view interactions.

The page load animation is a bonus. 😊

Automatically Play Videos On Horizontal Scroll

Cards snap into place as you scroll. The slides change with an interesting reversing effect. 

Position sticky and Webflow interactions give the illusion of scroll snapping.

The component is designed to convert into static slides on mobile to preserve the ease of use. Maybe a horizontal scrolling version might work better?

This is a card component that reveals details on hover. The cards will analyse the "dominant" colour within the card's image and adapt to match the image theme.

I've added a configurable "GRADIENT_MODE" setting in Custom Code which, when set to "true", will instead programmatically generate a "gradient" instead of a solid colour using the two most prominent colours in the image - this gives a nice effect too.

The hover interaction is switched for an "on-scroll" trigger on tablet/ mobile - this way, the cards will expand as they are in view :)

The image colour palette is analysed and extracted using the brilliant colour-thief.js adapted to Webflow's hosting policies (CORS 😅) using a proxy from Google. The card images are nfts by fvck_crystal.

This cloneable is a features section that gently focuses on each feature as you scroll. 

I love the clean Apple-Esque aesthetic, rebuilt from https://amie.so (my recent muse for inspiration).

I've fully relied on Webflow interactions.

Here is a text trailing effect on scroll. You can change all the text in one go inside symbol override settings. 

Pro tip: A similar effect can work well in CMS pages or in footers to link back :)
