Marco Thoma is a Swiss biologist dedicated to biodiversity research and conservation. With a biology degree from the University of Bern, he has gained experience as an assistant, scientific collaborator, and project leader in both local and international projects. In 2014, he founded his own company, focusing on field studies, data analysis, and museum collection curation. His work spans various taxa, from insects to vertebrates, involving species inventories, baseline surveys, and long-term monitoring projects. Collaborating with authorities, universities, and organizations, he provides essential insights to protect and promote biodiversity. Marco also offers expertise in data analysis using R and GIS-based spatial data representation. Outside of his professional work, he is passionate about nature photography, capturing the beauty of overlooked aspects of the natural world to inspire others to appreciate biodiversity.
