Embracing Imperfection
20.12.2024
Ansel Adams once said, "There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept," reminding us that clear ideas and strong emotions matter more than perfect technique in photography. In the same spirit, Edward Weston compared following strict composition rules to checking the laws of gravity before going for a walk—a way of saying that we should feel free to create and experiment. These ideas encourage us to break the rules and see imperfection as a way to add feeling and depth.
Inspired by this way of thinking, this first series explores the emotional power of flaws. Noise, motion, and strong contrasts aren't mistakes—they're used on purpose to tell a story and invite viewers to see the beauty and meaning in visual imperfections.
