I recently needed a way to dynamically generate a table of contents that works with the Webflow CMS. Figured it might benefit others to share it in a simple cloneable project.

Everything is styled and configured to be super easy to drop into your project. The code is located in embeds, the page is a static Webflow page (not connected to the CMS), and all styles are applied via class names so you won't lose anything during the copy/paste process. 

I hope it serves you well!

In this cloneable you will find a custom navigation including a dropdown for a submenu. For the dropdown you will find one desktop animation and a separate mobile animation. Further more you will find a scroll animation for the navigation bar, that is made with just some lines of custom code.

Sometimes that overflow parent can be problematic, if it's setup, then you can't really use sticky position.

This is the solution...

1. Element starts off as an absolute placed on the page wherever you like.
2. Once the viewport reaches the top of the element, a class is added to the element. That class is called "sticky". 
3. If we click on the menu within webflow. You will see there is a modifier class available called "sticky".
4. If you add that class, you will see what the menu looks like once the class is added, one of the css changes is from position absolute, to position: fixed.
5. Using the sticky modifier you are able adjust what the menu looks like. Once happy with your changes, just remove the modify class so that when scrolling the script can add the class on automatically.

Anchor/section links can be a bit of an issue if you have a sticky or fixed navigation on your Webflow site - the top of the page lines up with the top of the section, which can often hide content behind the navigation.

A lot of people in the Webflow community have issues with this, but there aren't many robust solutions - so, hopefully this script & tutorial help you!
