The Blue Farm Directory began as a response to the Blue Dot Farmers movement, where people tried to connect with and support Democratic-aligned farms hurt by Trump-era policies and trade wars. I built a central directory to transform that grassroots effort into a lasting, inclusive platform for small and mid-sized farms committed to fair, local agriculture. The platform allows farmers to designate themselves as “Blue” but doesn’t require it, welcoming all farms that share the broader goal of food resiliency. Farms can list themselves, tag certifications, products, and identities like woman-owned or veteran-owned, and connect directly with consumers. The site runs largely on backend automation, minimizing admin work while keeping entries organized and visible. The goal is to strengthen community connection, expand visibility, and help small farms thrive through direct support.
