Citypedia is a city guide website template for municipal bodies and local authorities. Services with categories, an events collection and attraction listings, with CMS collections for services, service categories, events and blog posts.

A city site serves residents looking for a service and visitors looking for something to do, and those are different jobs. Citypedia is a city guide website template that handles both, with a categorised services directory alongside events and attractions.

It suits municipal bodies, city and town councils, tourism boards and community organisations publishing local information.

What the CMS gives you

Blog, blog category, event, service and service category entries are held in Webflow CMS collections. Adding an entry means filling in fields rather than rebuilding a page, and it appears in the relevant listings automatically. For a site that gets updated regularly, this is the part that decides whether it stays current.

Services are categorised, not listed

A resident looking for waste collection should not have to scroll past tourism. Services have their own collection with categories, which is how a local authority site stays usable as it grows.

Events and attractions kept apart

An event has a date; an attraction is permanent. Presenting them the same way is how civic sites become confusing.

What this template does not do

It publishes information. It does not process applications, payments, permits or licences, handle service requests and case tracking, or connect to back-office municipal systems. Public sector sites usually carry accessibility obligations that go beyond a template, and meeting the standard applicable in your territory is yours to verify.

Who it is for

  • City and town councils publishing a services directory
  • Tourism boards presenting attractions and events
  • Community organisations acting as a local information hub

Customising it

Services, service categories, events and blog posts are CMS entries, so departments can maintain their own listings through the Editor.

If you would rather not do it yourself, our team can customise this template for you, from colour and content changes through to new pages and custom functionality. Request a Webflow template customization quote, or read more about our Webflow customization service.

Frequently asked questions

Can residents pay for services or apply for permits?

No. It publishes information and routes enquiries. Transactions and case handling belong in your back-office systems.

Are services searchable by category?

Yes, services have their own collection with categories.

Does it meet public sector accessibility requirements?

A template cannot guarantee that. Public bodies usually carry specific obligations, and meeting the standard in your territory needs its own audit.

Can events be added by non-technical staff?

Yes, events are a CMS collection editable through the Editor.

Is it suitable for a tourism board as well as a council?

Yes, it carries both the services directory and the attractions and events side.
