In this video we will explore creating a mouse follow trail effect with images. We'll use p5.js for our code and I'll show you how to load it up in Webflow to use as a cool hero section too!

Open Studio is a welcoming and vibrant platform for classes and connection around yoga. This site is a direct result of the pandemic — the client is/was a yoga instructor and set designer in Brooklyn, NY. Like so many others, she was forced to shift her practice online, and with that, Open Studio was born.

It's a fun and simple physics simulation involving the forces of gravity and gravitational attraction between the red circle and the user's mouse position anytime the mouse is moved. I think adding physics to your web pages can bring a lot of fun and joy to a website and p5.js combined with Webflow makes that pretty easy!

It's a great intro to introducing randomness to animations, linear interpolation function (lerp), and dealing with speed in p5.js. This image gallery concept with p5.js features images that float around the screen randomly and scale up based on proximity to the cursor. As the images get closer to the cursor, they scale up, but as the distance increases, they shrink! Additionally, as the images approach the viewport borders, we'll make sure they reverse direction, such that they bounce around and I'll show you how to find tune the behavior with custom variable in Webflow.

In this lesson we will have a look at the coding concept of recursion - a function that calls itself, to generate images that look like famous artwork by Piet Mondrian using p5.js. Recursion is notorious for being a difficult concept for new coders to master, and I think that having a visual representation can go a long way in helping wrap your head around how it works. Was at the SF Museum of Modern art the other day and was inspired to recreate this famous painting by Gerhard Richter in p5.js. It's a good lesson on grids with equal spacing between elements and colorMode in p5.js. We'll play around with random values, but here's how Richter did it according to the audio guide (he ended up with 180 colors, so ended up reusing some colors since there are 256 grid cells).
