The workaround for using CMS collections with the native lightbox in Webflow can be extremely daunting for users who don't know code. Plus the setup is really long for something that can essentially be done very easily with the right tools.

Well in this project we are looking at Magnific Popup. A JQuery plugin to make using lightbox extremely easy. It requires hardly any custom code to get what you want. And the best part about it is you don't have to sacrifice any design features in Webflow.

CMS LightBox Galleries (The Easy Way)

Once the popup is open, scrolling of the entire page is disabled using custom code (body = overflow hidden). This helps longer content in the popup overlay to scroll more comfortably without accidentally scrolling the whole page. For the video popup, additional custom jQuery code is needed to stop the video from running in the background when the close button is clicked.

A keyboard-activated (⌘ + K) menu with arrow navigation.

Had a ton of fun building this project and after some great feedback, wanted to put it out for the community. Most of the functionality comes from the page code in the <head> tag, here's a quick breakdown of the four sections:

1) Initialization: Waits for the HTML and CSS to load before identifying 'modal' and 'closeButton' elements through IDs.

2) Keyboard Toggle: Listens for 'Command/Control + K' key press, toggling the 'modal' element's visibility between 'display: none' and 'display: flex'.

3) Close Button: Assigns functionality to a 'closeButton' element, working seamlessly with the keyboard toggle.

4) Arrow Key Navigation: Disables default arrow key behavior and focuses navigation on modal links, customizing the focused state for accessibility. Exclude links by assigning them the 'ignoreLink' ID.

Apply the 'modal' ID to the content container and 'closeButton' ID to the close element.

When keyboard users tab into modals (like a popup or dialog), focus should remain in that window. This helps prevent users from accidentally moving focus outside the modal without closing it. Users should also be able to use the ESC key to close the modal.

Use this cloneable to build a custom map where you can plot different locations, taking advantage of Webflow CMS data in embed block.

Very easy to implement and omit the burden to integrate any third party services, this should cover many use cases.

In tablet view and below, hover effect is disabled but the map list will be visible below. And another trick is that you can click on the map pointer/marker and it will scroll to that item position. Trick is just to apply ID on the map item.

Hover effect it done with custom CSS but that can also be done with Webflow interaction, interaction is also included in this build but not used.
