Content optimization system (COS)

A content optimization system (COS) is software that lets you optimize website content to attract more traffic. A COS typically analyzes your current content, like web copy and blog posts, and suggests what new keywords to incorporate and how. Some versions can also help point out missing metadata and internal linking opportunities.

The main goal of a COS is to improve search engine optimization (SEO) so your website ranks higher on search engines. That way, when your target audience searches for something relevant to your website, they find you first. For example, a COS might suggest that a web design agency use keywords like “hire a web designer” and “web design company.”
