Left To Right (LTR)

Left To Right (LTR)

Left To Right (LTR) describes a text layout that starts from the left and proceeds to the right. It’s the standard format for Latin-alphabet-based languages such as English, Spanish, and French.

LTR layouts do more than govern the direction of text — they shape the entire webpage’s design and structure.

For example, consider the positioning of web elements. In an LTR layout, the logo, menu, and content unfold from the left to the right side of the screen. This layout mirrors the natural reading direction for those familiar with Latin-based languages.
