Breadcrumb

A breadcrumb, or breadcrumb trail, is a navigational element representing a user’s current location within a website's hierarchical structure. It’s a site roadmap that traces the user’s journey from the homepage to their current page.

For example, consider an ecommerce platform specializing in apparel. After landing on the homepage, you navigate through a sequence of links to locate your desired item. The resulting breadcrumb trail may look like this:

Home > Women > Footwear > Boots

These breadcrumb user interface elements are a chain of clickable links arranged hierarchically, typically found between the header and the main content of a website. Breadcrumbs help users orient themselves relative to the overall structure of a site, enhancing user navigation.
