Terms like “click here” and “read more” don’t provide any context. Screen readers can give visitors an overview of all the links on a page.

When links are read out of context in a list, it's important they tell readers:

  1. What the link is
  2. Where it's taking them

Whenever adding or using a button, link or a label, make sure the copy tells readers what will happen on click.

Some examples include:

  • Read blog post
  • Register for event
  • Watch webinar
  • Apply to be a Webflow Expert

For an example of a screen reader announcing unhelpful links on a page, check out in this section about links on Webflow University’s video lesson on Advanced web typography.
