Call-to-action (CTA)

Call-to-action (CTA)

A call-to-action (CTA) is a website feature that prompts visitors to perform a specific action. This action could involve subscribing to a newsletter, sharing content on social media, making a purchase, or any other desired end result.

Web designers often include CTAs as buttons, links, or standout text. They stand out on a webpage, leveraging bold and contrasting colors, appealing messaging, and other design elements to capture user attention and drive user action.

For example, consider an online store where each product page features a brightly colored “Add to cart” button. This CTA is visually distinct and direct in its messaging, clearly guiding potential customers toward the next step in the purchasing process.

By providing a clear path forward, CTAs reduce friction in the user experience and help visitors navigate through the conversion funnel seamlessly.
