Frontify
Connect Frontify with Webflow to search, browse, and insert assets directly in your site without switching platforms.
How to integrate Frontify with Webflow
There are two ways to integrate Frontify with Webflow.
To integrate it directly, use the Frontify app from the Webflow marketplace. For quick one-off insertions or embedding entire brand guideline pages, embed Frontify content with code using iframe-based delivery. Both these methods keep your brand materials synchronized and accessible, ensuring your team always works with the latest approved assets.
Use the Frontify app
The Frontify marketplace app connects your digital asset library directly to Webflow. Install the app to browse your complete folder structure, search assets by metadata, and embed brand-approved materials without leaving your workspace. Assets embed using Frontify's CDN URLs, so updates made in your Frontify library automatically appear in your Webflow sites once caches expire.
The app requires Workspace Administrator privileges in Webflow and Viewer access or higher to your Frontify Projects and Libraries. After installing from the Webflow Apps Marketplace, connect your Frontify account by entering your Frontify domain URL and authorizing the connection. Access Frontify through the Apps section in the Webflow side navigation.
The Frontify app supports the following capabilities:
- Browse asset structure: Navigate Brands, Libraries, and Projects using Frontify's folder organization within Webflow
- Search and filter assets: Find materials using titles, descriptions, tags, or custom metadata directly in Webflow
- View asset details: Check licensing information and specifications before embedding
- Embed via CDN or copy to assets: Link directly to Frontify's CDN for automatic updates, or copy files to the Webflow asset manager (4MB limit for images when copying)
- Supported formats: jpeg, jpg, png, gif, svg, bmp, webp, avif
This integration works well for agencies managing multiple client brands, enterprise marketing teams maintaining distributed web properties, and design teams who need access to current brand materials.
Embed Frontify content with code
Frontify provides embed codes for individual assets and public link sharing for quick insertions. Generate embed codes directly from any asset in Frontify, then paste the iframe into a custom code embed element in Webflow.
To embed an individual asset, access the asset in Frontify, click the action menu (three dots), select Share → Embed tab, and copy the provided iframe code. Paste this into a custom code embed element in Webflow. Each asset embed includes optional password protection and expiration dates for controlled access.
For sharing entire collections or folders, use Frontify's public link sharing to generate shareable URLs with configurable security settings. Embed these using standard HTML iframe tags in the Webflow custom code embed element:
<iframe src="https://your-frontify-public-link-url"
width="800"
height="600"
frameborder="0"
allowfullscreen>
</iframe>
Note the following technical requirements for embedding Frontify content:
- Content must be delivered via HTTPS
- Content cannot contain headers prohibiting embedding (X-Frame-Options)
- Content must allow public sharing without login requirements
- Custom code embed elements have a 50,000-character limit per instance
What you can build
Integrating Frontify with Webflow helps teams maintain brand consistency across web properties while reducing coordination overhead between brand managers, designers, and web teams.
- Multi-brand product pages: Store brand identifiers in Webflow CMS collections as metadata (color codes, logos, font specifications) while linking to corresponding Frontify asset URLs.
- Localized regional sites: Deploy region-specific websites that share core brand assets while accessing localized content.
- Dynamic brand guidelines: Embed brand guidelines as interactive Webflow sites using CDN-hosted content from Frontify.
- Campaign asset libraries with versioning control: Build Webflow portfolio or case study pages that pull campaign assets directly from Frontify's versioned library.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Use Frontify's direct CDN links or embed codes for individual assets. Access any asset in Frontify, click the action menu, select Share → Embed, and copy the iframe code. Paste this into the Webflow custom code embed element. This method works for quick insertions but requires manually switching between platforms to find assets. The marketplace app provides in-Webflow search and browsing that removes the need to switch between Frontify and Webflow.
For code embedding using Frontify's public links or iframe codes, you need permission to generate public share links in Frontify (typically Editor or Admin access) and Designer access in Webflow to add custom code embed elements.
Configure Frontify's folder-level and project-level permissions to control which assets team members can access through the integration. Permissions set in Frontify automatically apply when accessing assets through Webflow.
Assets embedded via Frontify's CDN links reflect updates made in Frontify, subject to cache settings. When you update an asset in Frontify's library, sites using the CDN URL serve the new version once caches expire. Assets copied to Webflow's asset manager do not update automatically because they create static copies independent of Frontify. Choose CDN embedding to maintain dynamic connections or copy to assets for guaranteed static versions.
Webflow's Assets API enforces size constraints of 4MB maximum for images and 10MB maximum for documents. High-resolution brand assets from Frontify frequently exceed these limits. Compress files before uploading via API or use Frontify's CDN links instead of uploading to Webflow's asset manager. The marketplace app handles this automatically by offering both embedding options, with direct CDN links that bypass size limits or copying to assets with size validation.
Control access through Frontify's permission system. The integration respects Frontify's folder- and project-level permissions, so users only see assets they are authorized to access in Frontify. Configure permissions in your Frontify workspace settings to create granular access controls. For example, give agency freelancers access only to specific client folders while restricting access to other clients' assets. These permissions are automatically propagated to Webflow.
