Thousands of freelance designers and agencies use Webflow to accelerate their design process and deliver better responsive websites faster. But managing client billing has never been easy. Until now.
Because today, we’re giving everyone who uses Webflow access to Client Billing.
To date, if you built and hosted a Webflow website for someone else, you’ve had to collect payments from them yourself. Or even worse, had to transfer the site to your client and lost the ability to collaborate, update the design, or charge ongoing fees to maintain their site.
But with Webflow Client Billing, you can now automate hosting payment management, keep control of the site, and — best of all — add on extra costs to cover maintenance fees or any other recurring payments you’ve set up with clients.
With our redesigned Starter plan — which now allows you to have unlimited Webflow-hosted sites without paying a monthly subscription to use Webflow — Client Billing enables freelancers and agencies that build sites for others to use Webflow at no cost.
Client Billing gives you the ability to:
- Pass on all hosting costs to clients (SSL, collaborators, etc.)
- Add on maintenance fees or any recurring costs you’ve set up with clients
- Set up automatic dunning emails so your clients can keep their credit card up to date
- Set up automated monthly billing (annual billing coming soon)
Build completely custom, production-ready websites — or ultra-high-fidelity prototypes — without writing a line of code. Only with Webflow.

An example of Client Billing
Let's say you built a client’s site with Basic Hosting (at $12/month), and that you add $20 a month for additional services, so the charge is $32/month.
The platform fee will be $3.20 (10% of your total added cost), and we'll add that to your client's total monthly charge, for a total of $35.20/month.
After we collect the charge from your client, we'll deposit $20 directly into your account (minus the credit card processing fee of 3–3.5%).
To set up Client Billing, head over to the Billing Tools section of your Account Settings. When you're done there, you can start billing clients from the Billing tab in their site’s settings.
