Summary
This week on Creator Sessions we’re joined by rising country music star Willie Jones. A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Willie has been in the spotlight since performing Josh Turner’s “Your Man” on the singing competition X-Factor Global at only 17 years of age. It wasn’t until 2021 that he made his most important statement as an artist—his song American Dream, written in the wake of George Floyds death. Willie’s refreshing blend of country sounds and confessional lyrics has made waves in a country music scene still largely lacking African-American representation. American Dream explores his perspective as a black man on patriotism—an incredibly profound and timely story that we’re honored to share with our creative community. Watch Willie perform “American Dream” and more from his latest album Right Now.
