Today we’re excited to announce Webflow Labs — a new innovation lab within Webflow.
Webflow Labs is focused on creating new ideas and incubating longer horizon projects that can help further Webflow’s mission and vision of empowering everyone to build for the web.
Led by Webflow’s co-founder and founding CTO, Bryant Chou, Labs will operate as a lightweight team within Webflow. This will give the company the opportunity to focus on innovation beyond our immediate roadmap, target new markets and customers, and experiment quickly with emerging trends in web design and beyond.
Labs products will move through an accelerated development process with the aim of getting the products in users’ hands for feedback and experimentation as quickly as possible. This means that Labs features will have a different level of polish and support than core Webflow products.
Labs products will have separate terms of service and will be launched in beta for customers, with customer support provided on a product-by-product basis. And while we are confident that Labs products will provide new and exciting value for users, these features will be in the very earliest stages of product development. Releases from Labs will be best suited for customers who are eager to experiment with new functionality on the Webflow platform, but who are also comfortable with unrefined user experiences and eager to provide feedback along the way.
As a whole, Webflow remains laser-focused on our mission to bring the power of visual development to many more people, and we continue to push ourselves to deliver towards that mission. We believe Labs will allow us to stay ahead of disruptive trends and bring that value back to our core product and community with speed.
Our Webflow Labs team has been hard at work and will be sharing updates in the near future. We hope you are as excited as we are and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.
