Webflow’s next-gen CMS is a backend re-architecture designed to unlock more powerful ways to build with dynamic content. In the new world of AI-led discovery, structured, data-rich experiences matter more than ever, and this investment ensures Webflow’s CMS is built to support them.

Last month, we migrated all Enterprise sites to this new architecture, introducing more scaled storage and data modeling, along with increased CMS data design flexibility for Enterprise customers. 

This week, we’ve begun migrating all Webflow sites to the same architecture, allowing us to increase CMS data design flexibility for all customers* in the months ahead.

Coming soon for all customers: Expanded design flexibility with CMS content

Once all migrations are complete in the coming months, we will significantly expand CMS data design flexibility for all customers with CMS access, unlocking richer page layouts and reusable templates that scale across your site. New capabilities will include:

• 2X per page Collection lists: Utilize up to 40 Collection lists per page.
• 5X per page nested Collection lists and 10X more items per collection list: Support up to 10 nested lists per page and 100 items per nested list.
• Multi-level nesting: Design up to three layers deep with your CMS data (up from one). 

This will enable you to:

• Create higher-value pages and improve discoverability by bringing more related CMS content together in one place, giving answer engines more structured context to interpret and cite your brand.
• Scale proven page patterns (like customer case studies) by pulling more CMS-driven sections directly into templates.
• Build richer directory and catalog-style pages that present relational content with fewer workarounds.

Rolled out with care

Migrating millions of live sites to a new architecture, without disruption, requires careful execution. We’re taking a phased approach to ensure every site remains fast, stable, and reliable throughout the transition. By completing these migrations first, we’re ensuring you can take full advantage of expanded CMS data design flexibility, once available, without tradeoffs. We’ll share a follow-up update once expanded CMS data design limits are available in the months ahead.
