How to integrate AssetFlow with Webflow

AssetFlow connects to Webflow through a single integration path, the Webflow Apps Marketplace.

Use the AssetFlow app

Once installed from the Webflow Apps Marketplace, the app reads your project's image library and CMS collections, then lets you generate, review, and apply alt text in bulk. The setup follows four steps:

  • Install the app from the marketplace
  • Filter your images by alt text status
  • Generate AI-powered suggestions
  • Apply your chosen descriptions back to Webflow

Install the app

Install AssetFlow from the Webflow Apps Marketplace by clicking Add to Site. The app connects to your Webflow project through Webflow's standard authorization flow and requires the following permissions:

  • Read and write access to CMS data and assets
  • Read access to site data and publishing information
  • Access to site data and the designer workflow
  • Read access to authorized user information

Once authorized, AssetFlow can access images in your asset library and CMS collections. No manual script injection or custom code is needed.

Filter and select images

After installation, use AssetFlow's filtering interface to sort your images by alt text status. The app categorizes every image in your project into one of four statuses:

  • Missing means the image has no alt text at all
  • Applied means alt text is already set
  • Decorative means the image is marked as decorative, where empty alt text is appropriate
  • Compatible means the image is ready for AI processing

These filters let you identify exactly which images need attention before generating anything. On large sites, this saves time by letting you skip images that already have adequate descriptions or are intentionally decorative.

Generate and apply alt text

Select one or more images and trigger AI analysis. AssetFlow generates multiple alt text suggestions per image, so you can compare options before committing. The generated descriptions follow accessibility best practices and are designed to support WCAG guidelines, though you should always review AI output before applying it.

You can generate alt text in four languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, and Portuguese. Select your target language before generating, and the AI produces descriptions in that language.

After reviewing, apply your chosen alt text back to Webflow with a single click. Changes take effect in your project immediately.

AssetFlow currently uses a credit-based system. New users receive 100 free AI-generated alt text credits, with the option to purchase more as needed. Check Creoglyph's pricing page for current details, as this model may change.

Process CMS content images

AssetFlow works with dynamic CMS content, not just static uploads. When you authorize the app, it gains access to image fields within your CMS collections. This means you can generate alt text for product photos, blog post images, portfolio items, and any other CMS-managed visual content.

The multi-language support applies to CMS images as well. If you run a localized site, you can generate alt text in the appropriate language for each market. Note that AssetFlow handles alt text only; it does not translate other page content or CMS fields.

What you can build with AssetFlow Webflow integration

AssetFlow pairs AI-generated alt text with Webflow's asset and CMS systems to help you cover accessibility gaps across image-heavy sites. The integration is most useful on projects with large image libraries where manual alt text entry would take hours.

Here are a few builds this integration supports:

  • Accessible e-commerce product catalogs: Generate descriptive alt text for product images across your entire catalog, helping screen reader users understand product visuals without requiring manual entry for each SKU.
  • Portfolio sites with WCAG-aligned image coverage: Process entire project galleries with AI-generated alt text that follows WCAG accessibility best practices, reducing the manual effort needed to make visual portfolios accessible to all visitors.
  • SEO-improved blog content: Automate alt text for blog post images and CMS content, which can support image search visibility and reduce editorial overhead for content teams publishing frequently.
  • Multilingual marketing sites: Generate alt text in English, Spanish, Japanese, or Portuguese for international sites, covering accessibility needs across different markets without separate translation workflows for image descriptions.

Frequently asked questions

  • AssetFlow supports JPG, PNG, GIF, and SVG files. These are all the image formats that Webflow allows in its asset library. The app works with both static images uploaded directly and dynamic images managed through CMS collections. File size limits follow Webflow's standard platform constraints.

  • Yes. AssetFlow supports English, Spanish, Japanese, and Portuguese. Select your target language before generating, and the AI produces descriptions in that language. This is useful for localized Webflow sites, though you still need to structure your multilingual content separately in Webflow since AssetFlow only handles alt text.

  • Yes. When you authorize the app, it gains access to image fields in your CMS collections. You can generate alt text for product photos, blog images, portfolio items, and any other CMS-managed visual content the same way you would for static assets.
