How to integrate Formester with Webflow

The easiest way to set up Formester is by installing the Formester app from the Webflow Marketplace. You can also embed Formester forms using custom code, or connect via Zapier to route submissions to Webflow CMS collections.

Use the Formester app

Install the Formester app from the Webflow Marketplace for a direct Formester Webflow integration with your Webflow site. The app handles form embedding and submission management without manual code configuration.

Embed Formester forms with custom code

Formester provides embed codes (iframe or JavaScript) that you can place on Webflow pages through Code Embed elements.

Setup process:

  1. Access your Formester account dashboard
  2. Navigate to form settings and copy the embed code
  3. In Webflow Designer, add an Embed element from the Add panel
  4. Paste the embed code and test responsiveness across breakpoints
  5. Publish your site

Plan requirement: Custom code embedding requires a Webflow Site plan or higher. Starter plans do not support Embed elements.

Connect Formester and Webflow via Zapier

Formester is available on Zapier for automated workflows between form submissions and Webflow CMS collections.

Example workflow: When a new form submission is received in Formester → Create a new CMS item in your Webflow collection.

Field mapping connects Formester form fields to Webflow CMS fields (Name → Name, Email → Email, Message → Message, submission timestamp → date field).

Limitations:

  • No pre-built Formester-Webflow templates exist on Zapier — requires custom Zap creation
  • Sync times are 1-15 minutes depending on your Zapier plan
  • Free Zapier plans have monthly operation limits that may restrict high-volume forms
  • Reference fields require special handling and may not map automatically

Note: Formester's primary automation integration is through Zapier. Other platforms like Make.com may require a webhook-based custom setup.

What you can build

Integrate Formester with Webflow to create form-driven content systems.

  • Lead capture forms: Create contact forms that route submissions to Webflow CMS as structured lead records, enabling dynamic lead directories that update automatically.
  • Event registration management: Build signup forms that send attendee data to CMS collections for displaying event rosters or participant galleries.
  • Feedback and survey routing: Capture customer feedback through surveys and route responses to CMS for testimonial or case study sections.
  • Application intake systems: Design application forms that feed into CMS-powered dashboards. Note: Multi-step workflows and browsable application galleries require technical expertise and custom Webflow development beyond basic Zapier setup.

Frequently asked questions

  • Zapier-based automation works with any Webflow plan that includes CMS access (Site plan or higher). Embed code approaches require a Site plan or higher for custom code capabilities. Starter plans do not support custom HTML/JavaScript embedding.

  • No pre-built templates currently exist on Zapier for Formester-Webflow connections. You'll need to create custom Zaps by manually selecting triggers and actions, including configuring field mapping between Formester form fields and your target Webflow CMS collection fields.

  • Consider form builders with documented Webflow compatibility, including Typeform, JotForm, Tally Forms, and native Webflow Forms. Each provides different embedding approaches and automation capabilities.
