How to integrate Order Desk with Webflow

The easiest way to set up your Order Desk Webflow integration is by using the Order Desk app with OAuth authentication. You can also connect through automation platforms like Zapier for simple workflows. If you need real-time inventory synchronization or custom order validation logic, you can build with the Webflow and Order Desk APIs.

Note: Order Desk released V2 of the Webflow integration in February 2025, available in the Webflow App Marketplace.

Use the Order Desk app

Order Desk automatically imports orders from your Webflow store for processing and routes them to fulfillment partners. The integration uses OAuth authentication to connect your Webflow site. Once connected, orders flow automatically from Webflow to Order Desk, where you can apply routing rules, split orders across multiple suppliers, and sync tracking information back to customers.

The integration supports these workflows:

  • Print-on-demand fulfillment: Route orders containing custom products to print-on-demand providers based on product type, with automatic order splitting when orders contain items from multiple manufacturers
  • Dropshipping operations: Organize orders by supplier using custom folders and location-based filtering, then export orders to each supplier in their required format
  • Multi-warehouse distribution: Split orders automatically based on inventory location and route each portion to the appropriate fulfillment center
  • Custom fulfillment workflows: Apply conditional routing rules through Order Desk's Rules Engine to direct orders to different suppliers based on product attributes, shipping method, or customer location

After connecting the integration, configure import frequency settings, set up inventory location filters if managing multiple warehouses, and enable automatic tracking synchronization to update Webflow orders when suppliers provide shipment information.

Connect through automation platforms

Zapier can connect Order Desk with Webflow through no-code workflow builders. This approach works for basic order notifications and simple data sync. For complex order splitting, multi-vendor routing, and conditional logic, use the native Order Desk integration or custom APIs instead.

Consult the automation platform's documentation to verify available Order Desk and Webflow actions before committing to this approach.

Build with Webflow and Order Desk APIs

The Order Desk API and Webflow Ecommerce API enable custom integration workflows beyond the native integration. Use these APIs when you need real-time inventory synchronization, custom order validation logic, custom webhook configurations, or integration with systems not supported by Order Desk's pre-built connectors.

Both platforms provide RESTful APIs with JSON responses. Order Desk requires an API key and Store ID for authentication. Webflow supports OAuth 2.0 for third-party applications or site-specific API tokens for direct integrations.

Real-time order processing with webhooks

Order Desk sends order data to custom endpoints using webhooks configured through the Rules Engine. Configure webhook rules with these event triggers:

  • Order is Imported: Triggered when an order is imported from an integration source
  • Order Confirmed: Triggered when the order recipient confirms the order
  • Folder is Changed: Triggered when an order is moved between folders
  • Shipment is Added: Triggered when tracking information is added to an order

Verify webhook authenticity using security headers (X-ORDER-DESK-STORE-ID and X-ORDER-DESK-HASH) included with each request. Your endpoint must return HTTP 200 to confirm successful receipt. Order Desk retries failed webhooks up to 10 times for temporary failures.

Custom inventory synchronization

Implement asynchronous background jobs rather than synchronous polling to avoid hitting Order Desk's rate limits. The API requires exponential backoff strategies and date range filtering for all order queries.

Note: Webflow API tokens expire after 365 days of inactivity — this is a rolling expiration based on last use, not creation date. Integrations with sporadic activity patterns need token refresh logic to prevent authentication failures.

What you can build

Integrate Order Desk with Webflow to enable automated order fulfillment workflows for print-on-demand stores, multi-vendor marketplaces, and dropshipping operations.

  • Print-on-demand storefront: Build a custom apparel or home decor store in Webflow where orders automatically route to print-on-demand providers based on product type. Order Desk splits orders containing products from multiple manufacturers and sends tracking numbers back to your Webflow store when items ship.
  • Multi-vendor marketplace: Create a marketplace where orders containing products from different suppliers automatically split into separate fulfillment batches. Each supplier receives only their portion of the order in their required format, while customers receive unified tracking from your Webflow site.
  • Subscription box service: Design a subscription box landing page in Webflow that captures recurring orders. Note: Subscription payment processing is handled by Stripe — Order Desk manages fulfillment routing only. Contact Order Desk support to configure subscription-specific features like recurring order processing and assembly instructions for different tiers.
  • Dropshipping operation: Launch a branded dropshipping store where Webflow handles the customer-facing storefront while Order Desk manages order organization and routing. The platform supports order splitting by supplier, custom export formats tailored to each supplier's requirements, and routing rules based on product attributes or inventory location.

Frequently asked questions

  • Navigate to Manage Integrations in your Order Desk account, locate Webflow under the Shopping Carts tab, and click Enable. Then click Connect to Webflow to authenticate using OAuth. The connection requires administrative access to both platforms and an active Webflow ecommerce plan.

  • Order Desk automatically retries failed webhook deliveries up to 10 times for temporary failures indicated by HTTP 5xx status codes. Your webhook endpoint must return HTTP 200 to confirm successful receipt — any non-200 status triggers the retry logic. Your endpoint should always return HTTP 200 even for business logic rejections like duplicate orders, and handle rejection logic internally rather than through HTTP status codes.

  • Order Desk can sync inventory item counts back to Webflow through the native integration settings. The native integration uses configurable import frequency settings rather than real-time webhooks, introducing some latency. For real-time bidirectional inventory synchronization, implement custom logic using the Webflow Ecommerce API combined with Order Desk's inventory management capabilities.

  • Verify the integration is enabled in Manage Integrations, check that authentication hasn't expired by re-authorizing the connection, and confirm your Webflow site is published with active ecommerce functionality. If you're using inventory location filters, ensure location names match exactly between Order Desk and Webflow — case-sensitive matching can cause import failures. Temporarily disable location filters to test if matching is the issue. You can manually import the last 100 orders as a recovery method if automatic import fails.
