Flowstar: Payment Button
Connect Flowstar Payment Button with Webflow to add PayPal-based checkout, donation, and subscription buttons to any page without a full e-commerce store setup.
How to integrate Flowstar Payment Button with Webflow
The easiest way to set up your Flowstar Payment Button Webflow integration is by installing the Flowstar Payment Button app from the Webflow Apps marketplace. The app lets you drag payment buttons into your design and configure them visually with no coding required. Since Flowstar processes payments through PayPal, you can also connect PayPal to automation platforms like Zapier or Make to trigger workflows on payment events.
You need a PayPal Business Account to process transactions.
Use the Flowstar Payment Button app
Install the Flowstar Payment Button app from the Webflow Apps marketplace. After installation, drag payment buttons onto your pages in Webflow and configure them visually.
Implementation steps:
- Install Flowstar Payment Button from the Webflow Apps marketplace
- Open Webflow and navigate to the page where you want a payment button
- Add the Flowstar Payment Button element and configure the button type (checkout, donation, or subscription)
- Edit button text, toggle payment icons (including the PayPal logo), adjust colors and shapes, and set pricing
- Publish your site
The app supports the following payment features:
- Create one-time purchase flows for products or services using checkout buttons.
- Accept variable or fixed-amount contributions using donation buttons.
- Set up recurring payment flows for memberships or services using subscription buttons.
- Configure button colors, shapes, and text directly in Webflow.
- Set amounts and custom fields inline without a separate product catalog for dynamic pricing.
- Currency and language adapt automatically to each visitor's location.
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are supported through PayPal's processor.
Payment processing, receipts, refunds, and disputes are all handled through your PayPal Business Account dashboard.
Connect PayPal to automation platforms
Flowstar Payment Button is not available on Zapier, Make, n8n, IFTTT, or viaSocket. However, since Flowstar processes payments through PayPal, you can connect PayPal directly to automation platforms to trigger workflows on payment events, bypassing Flowstar entirely.
PayPal + Zapier
PayPal's Zapier integration supports triggers like "New Successful Sale" and "Refunded Sale." Pair these with Webflow actions to create or update CMS items on payment events.
PayPal + Make
Make's PayPal modules support similar payment event triggers with more flexibility for multi-step workflows and data transformation.
PayPal webhooks
For custom workflows, configure PayPal's webhooks API to send payment events to your own server endpoint.
This approach requires an intermediate comfort level with automation platforms and PayPal webhook configuration.
What you can build
Integrate Flowstar Payment Button with Webflow to add PayPal-based payment collection to any page without setting up a full e-commerce store.
- Digital product sales page: Add a checkout button to a landing page for an ebook, template, or course. PayPal handles payment processing and receipt delivery — no server-side code needed.
- Nonprofit donation page: Place variable-amount donation buttons on a campaign page. For a live donor wall, connect PayPal webhooks to the Webflow CMS API to write transaction data into a collection. This requires a developer with server-side programming experience.
- Freelancer service payment page: Add styled checkout buttons to a services page so clients can pay for specific packages directly. PayPal processes the payment and sends a receipt.
- Membership signup page: Use Flowstar's subscription button type on a signup page for recurring billing. Note: Flowstar handles payment collection only. Content gating and member access control require a separate tool like Memberstack or Outseta.
Frequently asked questions
No. Flowstar processes payments exclusively through PayPal, supporting Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover via PayPal's processor. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and buy-now-pay-later options are not supported. If you need Stripe or additional payment methods, Webflow's native e-commerce features support Stripe, Apple Pay, and Google Pay directly.
Flowstar does not document a built-in test mode. Use PayPal's sandbox environment to test transactions with sandbox buyer and seller accounts. For Webflow-side testing, publish to your staging subdomain and verify the button renders and processes test payments correctly. Confirm your PayPal Business Account is fully configured before testing.
Configure the button directly in Webflow after installing the app. Options include editing button text, toggling payment icons, adjusting colors and shapes, and setting pricing for checkout, donation, or subscription button types. Dynamic pricing and custom fields are also supported. Contact Flowstar support at hi@flowstar.co for configuration questions beyond what's available in the visual editor.
