How to integrate Superflow with Webflow

The easiest way to set up your Superflow Webflow integration is by installing the Superflow app from the Webflow Apps marketplace. You can also embed the Superflow script manually through Webflow's custom code settings if you prefer direct control over script placement. For agencies managing many Webflow sites, you can build with the Superflow API to automate project creation when sites are published.

The Superflow toolbar only appears when you append ?review=true to your published URL. It stays hidden from public visitors.

Use the Superflow app

Install the Superflow app from the Webflow Apps marketplace for the quickest setup. The app grants Superflow access to your site's custom code, pages, and publishing settings.

Implementation steps:

  1. Install Superflow from the Webflow Apps marketplace
  2. Open Superflow and link your Webflow project
  3. Copy the embed script from the Superflow dashboard
  4. In Webflow, go to Site SettingsCustom Code and paste the script into the Footer Code section
  5. Publish your Webflow site
  6. Visit your published URL with ?review=true appended to verify the toolbar appears

The Superflow script goes in the Footer Code section (not Header Code) so page content renders first. The toolbar only activates with the ?review=true parameter, so there is no performance impact on public pages.

If the toolbar doesn't appear after publishing, confirm the site is fully published, clear your browser cache, and verify the script is in the Footer Code section. Check the browser console for JavaScript errors if issues persist.

The app supports:

  • Pin comments on specific elements, text selections, or drawn regions of any page for contextual feedback.
  • Attach voice recordings, screen captures, and files to any comment for multimedia feedback.
  • Review feedback organized by page directly in Webflow using the Superflow sidebar plugin.
  • Assign comments as tasks and integrate with Slack, Asana, ClickUp, and Monday.com.

Embed the Superflow script manually

If you prefer not to use the marketplace app, paste the Superflow JavaScript snippet directly into Webflow's custom code settings. This gives you the same functionality and works well for teams that manage multiple sites or want tighter control over script placement.

  • Site-level Footer Code loads the Superflow script on every page — use this for full-site review workflows
  • Page-level custom code limits Superflow to specific pages if you only need feedback on certain sections
  • Google Tag Manager is also supported if your team already manages scripts through GTM

Place the script in the footer (before the closing </body> tag) rather than the header. Custom code requires a paid Webflow site plan and only executes on published sites.

Build with the Superflow API

For agencies managing many Webflow sites, the Superflow REST API automates project creation. This is an advanced, developer-level integration. You need a backend server or serverless function to process webhooks.

The API currently supports project creation only. Follow these steps:

  1. Create a Superflow project by sending a POST request to the Create Project endpoint, passing projectUrl and projectName in the request body
  2. Authenticate requests using two headers: x-superflow-api-key and x-superflow-auth-token, generated from the Superflow admin dashboard
  3. Listen for Webflow publish events by configuring a site_publish webhook that triggers project creation on your server

Store API keys and auth tokens securely. The Superflow API documentation covers token generation and request format.

Automate project creation on site publish

Pair Webflow webhooks with the Superflow API to create a collaboration project every time a client site publishes:

  1. Register a site_publish webhook through the Webflow Webhooks API
  2. When Webflow fires the event, your server fetches site details from the Webflow Sites API
  3. Your server calls the Superflow Create Project endpoint with the site URL and name
  4. Store the returned projectId alongside the Webflow site ID for future reference

What you can build

Integrate Superflow with Webflow to collect visual feedback and manage approval workflows directly on published sites.

  • Agency client review portal: Share a staging URL with ?review=true so clients can pin comments on specific design elements. This replaces scattered email threads with feedback tied to exact page locations.
  • Multi-stakeholder landing page approval: Give product managers, copywriters, and executives a way to review the same page simultaneously. Threaded discussions are tied to exact page elements with built-in task assignment and integrations with Slack, Asana, and ClickUp.
  • Automated collaboration provisioning: Use the Superflow API to create a feedback project every time a client site publishes. This eliminates manual setup across dozens of active projects.
  • Design QA and iteration tracker: Reviewers annotate staging sites and mark issues as resolved. Comment threads and resolution states provide an audit trail of what changed and why across revision cycles.

Frequently asked questions

  • Install the app from the Webflow Apps marketplace, then paste the provided script into Site SettingsCustom CodeFooter Code. Publish your site and visit any page with ?review=true appended to the URL to verify the toolbar appears. No code writing is needed. Just a copy-and-paste into the footer field.

  • The toolbar only appears when you append ?review=true to your published URL (e.g., yoursite.com/?review=true). If it still doesn't show, confirm the site is published, clear your browser cache, and check that the script is in the Footer Code section rather than Header Code. Check the browser console for JavaScript errors that might indicate conflicts.

  • Both tools can run on the same site. Webflow's native comments operate within Webflow, while Superflow operates on published pages. To avoid duplicate feedback workflows, decide which tool your team uses for which purpose. Superflow adds capabilities like voice recordings, screen captures, task assignment, and integrations with Slack, Asana, ClickUp, and Monday.com.

  • Yes. The Superflow Create Project endpoint accepts a site URL and project name. Pair it with a Webflow site_publish webhook to create a collaboration space on each publish. Authentication requires both an API key and auth token from the Superflow admin dashboard. The API currently supports project creation only. Comment retrieval and annotation management are not available through public endpoints.
