We've successfully migrated all Webflow sites to our next-gen CMS, giving teams more ways to build sophisticated, scalable content experiences.

Sites that perform in AI-driven discovery require rich, interconnected content architectures. The shape those sites take — and the methods teams use to build them — varies widely, but the foundational need is the same: a robust and flexible CMS that lets teams bring related content together, create experiences that drive discoverability, and scale as those needs grow. Our next-gen CMS delivers the technical foundation to build these AEO-ready experiences without compromise.

Webflow's next-gen CMS is an architectural overhaul designed to unlock a new level of scale for how teams design with dynamic content. Following our Enterprise rollout in January, all Webflow customers* can now start leveraging expanded design flexibility immediately.

*All customers with access to Webflow’s CMS, from Starter through Business Site plans, as well as Ecommerce customers. See our pricing page for more information on CMS features per plan.

Now available for all customers

Webflow’s next-gen CMS delivers powerful new capabilities across design flexibility, storage, and performance, including.

  • 2X per page Collection lists: Utilize up to 40 Collection lists per page.
  • 5X per page nested Collection lists and 10X more items per collection list: Support up to 10 nested lists per page and 100 items per nested list.
  • Multi-level nesting: Design up to three layers deep with your CMS data (up from one).

This enables you to:

  • Build higher-value pages that consolidate more related content in one place, providing answer engines with the structured context they need to interpret and surface your brand effectively.
  • Scale proven page patterns (like customer case studies) by pulling more CMS-driven sections directly into templates.
  • Build richer directory and catalog-style pages that present relational content with fewer workarounds.

How customers are transforming content experiences with Webflow’s next-gen CMS

Expanded CMS design flexibility means teams can now build sites the way content actually works — structuring and displaying dynamic content in ways that let pages tell richer stories, bring related content together, and create the type of interconnected experiences that perform better in AI-driven discovery. For the teams building these experiences every day, the difference is immediate.

Sumit Tejani, a Certified Webflow Partner with several agencies on his client roster, builds content-heavy projects — the type of work that requires connecting related content, organizing listings, and creating flexible sections. The structures he builds need to work for both the design vision and scale for the client managing them long-term — and with Webflow's next-gen CMS, that's now possible without workarounds.

"The new design flexibility unlocked with Webflow’s next-gen CMS has already changed how I think about structuring content in Webflow, particularly for content-heavy portfolio projects. On sites with project pages, service pages, and related case studies, having more flexibility in how CMS content can be connected and displayed makes it much easier to create richer page layouts and more scalable templates from the start."

The increased design flexibility removes constraints that previously shaped how sites were built:

"What's exciting about this launch is that more customers will be able to build those kinds of CMS-driven experiences — not just teams with the most advanced setups. It creates new possibilities for content-rich pages that are easier to design, easier to scale, and easier for clients to manage after handoff."

Leslie Crosby is a senior frontend developer at Civilization, a full-service, independent creative agency designed to help brands adapt and thrive in an always-changing world. Her team works on sites with complex, interconnected content that needs to be both easy for visitors to navigate and simple for teams to maintain. This type of interconnected content structure would have previously required custom development — but now, it’s entirely achievable in Webflow.

"This kind of CMS flexibility is a big unlock for complex content experiences. A great example of something we're working on for gourmet burger chain Hopdoddy: a restaurant page with layered nutritional and allergen information, where you need to bring together menu items, ingredients, and supporting details in a way that stays clear for the customer and manageable for the team updating it. With deeper nesting and more flexible CMS-driven layouts, you can create pages like this in a way that feels much more intuitive for everyone involved. That’s a strong step forward for teams that want to deliver rich, structured content while keeping their setup simple.”

A foundation built for the future

Millions of live sites have been carefully and successfully migrated to a new architecture — and now every Webflow site is running on a foundation built for the future. This means teams can immediately take advantage of expanded design flexibility to build richer, more sophisticated content experiences, and we're just getting started.

This architectural foundation sets the stage for continued increases in CMS data flexibility and scale, more robust APIs, and new capabilities that help brands on Webflow get discovered, understood, and cited by AI engines.
