• Does Image Management support bulk operations?

  Yes. The app processes multiple images across collections. According to the Image Management documentation, you can handle images across your collections by selecting target collections, configuring compression and format settings, previewing results, then applying changes across your selection. This approach works for initial site migrations, periodic content updates, or ongoing CMS management without processing images individually.

• What image formats does Image Management support?

  Image Management accepts JPEG, JPG, and PNG as input formats and converts them to WebP or AVIF output formats. According to the Image Management features page, AVIF provides smaller file sizes compared to WebP. The app doesn't document support for GIF, TIFF, BMP, or SVG inputs. For format requirements beyond these specifications, check with Pixlevents directly or consider Webflow's native conversion capabilities, which now include WebP and AVIF conversion tools integrated directly into the Assets panel.

• How does Image Management compare to native Webflow image optimization?

  Webflow introduced native WebP conversion in 2024 and AVIF support in July 2024, along with bulk compression capabilities in January 2025. These native features work automatically for images uploaded directly through the Assets panel, generating responsive variants and applying optimizations without third-party tools.

  Image Management fills a specific gap in programmatic workflows. When you import content through CSV or the Webflow REST API, Webflow doesn't generate responsive image variants automatically during the import process. The Image Management app addresses this by processing these programmatically-imported images after they reach your CMS, applying format conversion and compression that programmatic import processes don't handle.

  Note that Image Management handles format conversion and compression, not responsive variant generation. If you upload images directly through Webflow's interface, Webflow's native optimization features are typically sufficient without additional third-party tools.

• Can you use Image Management with the Webflow API?

  No. Pixlevents doesn't provide API access for programmatic integration with Image Management. The tool works exclusively through the marketplace app interface within your Webflow workspace. If you need programmatic image optimization in automated workflows, CI/CD pipelines, or headless CMS scenarios, consider alternatives with APIs like Cloudinary (available through Webflow's asset integrations) or use the Webflow Assets API to upload pre-optimized images. Image Management works for manual or periodic optimization tasks through the Webflow interface, not automated programmatic workflows.

• What permissions does Image Management require?

  Image Management requires read and write access to your CMS collections to modify image assets. During installation through the Webflow Apps Marketplace, you authorize these permissions through OAuth. According to the Webflow Marketplace overview, you grant access during installation and can revoke it through Site settings>Apps & integrations. The app can access multiple collections simultaneously for batch operations, and you preview changes before applying them to live content. Browser popup permissions must be enabled during installation to complete the authorization flow.
