Improved sitemap support for localized sites
Webflow sitemaps now include all localized routes with self-referencing hreflang tags, ensuring full SEO best practices and stronger discoverability for multilingual sites.

We’ve made an important update to how Webflow generates sitemaps for localized websites.
Previously, our automated sitemaps only included the primary locale’s URLs, with hreflang references to other locales inside each URL block. While this worked, it wasn’t fully aligned with Google’s best practices for multilingual and multi-regional SEO.
Now, sitemaps generated in Webflow include all localized routes as individual URL entries, each with their own self-referencing hreflang. This ensures:
- Better compliance with Google’s recommendations for international SEO
- Clearer signals to search engines about the full set of localized pages on your site
- Improved discoverability and indexing of every locale you publish
This change is automatically applied on your next site publish.
