Phasing out copy/paste across projects support for legacy interactions

To reduce unexpected issues, we’re phasing out support for copying and pasting legacy interactions from one project to another at the end of this year.

Phasing out copy/paste across projects support for legacy interactions

With the release of our new interactions toolset in 2017, our previous, we deprecated our legacy interactions toolset. And while we still allow our customers to use the legacy, deprecated interactions toolset, we have not been maintaining or improving it for the past year and a half.

While this has not (and will not) affect sites that were built with legacy interactions, it has in some cases created unexpected issues when moving interactions and interaction-heavy layouts from old sites to new ones via copy and paste across projects.

For this reason, in an effort to prevent further instances of legacy interactions not working (or breaking things) when pasted into a new project, we’re phasing out support for copying and pasting legacy interactions from one project to another, starting in 2020.

We’ll officially phase this support out after December 31st, and in the meantime, will show an alert when legacy interactions are included in a paste from one project to another.

For further discussion or to ask any questions, head to our form post or check out our course on Webflow Interactions.
