Rename elements and component instances
Rename elements and component instances in Design or Build mode to make large pages or complex layouts easier to navigate.

If you reuse the same class or component several times on the same page, it can become difficult to identify specific instances —especially when building larger sites or complex layouts. Now, you can rename elements and component instances in Design or Build mode —helping you stay organized and providing a familiar design tool affordance.

Additionally, we’ve updated the default names for a variety of elements:
- text elements use their content,
- images use the asset name, and;
- custom elements use a human-readable version of the HTML tag.
You can rename elements and component instances directly from the Navigator, right panel, or context menu. Visit our Help Center to learn more.
