For enterprise organizations, security is considered table stakes, and in many cases, the critical foundation for sustainable growth.  This rings true for security companies, too. Take Vanta, a trust management platform that helps thousands of businesses automate compliance and scale their security practices. After they expanded beyond their initial SOC 2 offering to a multi-product and multi-segment organization, the team realized they needed a future-proof web platform to support this growth.

“We’re a security company, so security is very important for us,” says VP of Product and Corporate Marketing, Sarah Scharf. “We needed a true enterprise-grade solution with more granular permissions that would allow our teams to collaborate freely without the risk of compromising our website.” 

Vanta’s marketing website tells the brand story, while educating and engaging new and existing customers. It was originally custom coded before they quickly made the switch to Webflow self-serve. But with a growing team, limited developer resources, and an ambitious content plan, Vanta needed a robust solution that enabled multiple teams across growth, content, product marketing and more to contribute to the site safely. 

To meet this moment of growth and opportunity, while embarking on a company rebrand, Vanta upgraded to Webflow Enterprise.  

Launching a new brand in 3 months with the support of Webflow’s partner network

We loved working with agencies that really knew how to get the most out of Webflow, while bringing a ton of design expertise to ensure we could implement our brand in a way that felt fresh and modern. Vanta’s goal with their rebrand was to create a brand identity that spoke to Vanta’s quirky and playful personality, while still engaging their growing audience—from security professionals and auditors to enterprise leaders. For design expertise and custom animations to bring this personality to life, they worked with Webflow partner 8020.

For the actual development of the website, Vanta worked with another Webflow partner, Finsweet. “In my experience, it’s rare to find agencies who you can rely on for anything,” Sarah says, “Our experience with 8020 and Finsweet and their caliber of work has been incredible.” Building Vanta’s new site, which included redesigns and reskins of every page, took about 30 days from dev kickoff to launch.

Once the new site was live, the process for creating new pages and collaborating on existing content improved tremendously. “Before we had to be much more rigid with our timelines. With Webflow’s editing and collaboration capabilities, our team can work on projects in tandem which improves overall efficiency,” says Sarah.  

Jenny Thai, Head of Content at Vanta, recalls leaning on their dedicated Enterprise Account team for platform training and strategic guidance throughout the rebrand. “One of the biggest benefits with Webflow Enterprise is having a dedicated account team every step of the way. Our CSM and Technical Architect have been fantastic for setting up trainings, checking in on our strategic plans, and being available whenever we have questions,” she says. 

How Vanta's content team delivers new content faster

Vanta’s content team is responsible for bringing their brand story to life across their blog, resource center, and social channels. “Working with Webflow is so seamless and intuitive,” Jenny says. “On the CMS side, our blog is set up so that my team can now fully own the content publishing process without requiring dev support.” 

One of their projects included launching a series of new content collections, which host tons of resources that educate readers on a specific topic. These collections follow an SEO-friendly hub and spoke model, which aggregates content along a specific theme and allows them to more easily cross-link. Soon after upgrading to Webflow Enterprise, the Vanta team built and launched a new SOC 2 content hub to house over 40 articles in two weeks in partnership with Finsweet. “Developing a content collection like this would’ve taken months with our previous setup,” Jenny says.

Once the SOC 2 collection was live, Jenny’s team got to work launching their ISO 27001 collection, which took just two days to build because she was able to simply duplicate the SOC 2 collection in the CMS. Going forward, they’ve hired an SEO lead to build out more content collections. And the team is already seeing traffic growth and an improvement in search rankings, including a 43% increase in non-branded search traffic since launch. 

A dynamic website experience that evolves with the business

Vanta’s next venture is creating bespoke experiences for their different audiences while continuing to show off their unique brand personality. Having a dynamic website that can evolve to meet market demands is critical to ensure Vanta can stand out in a crowded competitive landscape. 

One capability that the Vanta team is particularly excited about is localization. Vanta is now a global company and have recently been building out their EMEA and APAC presence. Jenny says, “I’ve worked at companies where localization was a very painful, manual process. With Webflow, I was blown away seeing the one-click translation live. It was my ‘aha’ moment of how powerful this localization capability can be.” 

“With Webflow we have a really powerful platform and we’re just scratching the surface on what we can do with it,” Jenny says. “Going forward, Webflow will be the backbone of our business.”
